“Remember for the Future”

"To have a future, one must know the past." Wilhelm von Humboldt, 1767-1835
This report is about the project "Remember for the future", about individual life stories and methods by which people can take their fate
into their own hands in order to live together in peace in Europe. A glance at the flashpoints throughout the world shows how difficult it is to learn from history
and to start again in new directions. But if we want to change things, it is no good giving up and doing nothing. We have to involve ourselves and to set our faces against forgetting
and suppressing the past. Each one of us carries within us the responsibility for ensuring lasting peace in the world community - beginning at home.
Prof.Dr.Rita Suessmuth President of the DVV Vice-President of OSCE
